About the service

Private Family Budget is a manual budgeting web app. It helps a household record income and expenses, follow bills and savings, and share an Excel workbook through Google Drive. The service is operated by Voxio Studio, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Contact us at contact@voxiostudio.com. For purchases through Etsy, seller details are also available on your order receipt.

Your account and household

You must have the legal capacity and authorization to use the service and agree to these terms. Use your own account, keep it secure, and provide accurate information. Do not impersonate someone else. The household owner chooses who may join and whether they can view or edit the budget.

Only invite people you are authorized to share the workbook with. An invitation does not authorize sharing another person’s information without their permission.

Access plans and marketplace purchases

A valid purchase of the website lifetime plan activates lifetime access for one household, including its invited members. Direct website payments are processed by Stripe; access activates after payment is verified. There is no monthly or yearly subscription for that access, and it will not automatically become a subscription. Features and support included in your purchase are those described in the applicable listing and purchase terms.

For purchases through Etsy or another marketplace, the seller sends one unique access code per confirmed purchase within 24 hours. Limited-duration codes provide access for the number of days stated at purchase, starting when redeemed, with no automatic renewal. Expiration does not delete the workbook in your Google Drive. Lifetime codes provide lifetime access. A code activates one household, is not for resale, and may be assigned to a buyer email. Do not publish or share an unused purchase code outside the purchasing household. Invited members do not need separate purchase codes.

Your own internet service, Google account, and any Google storage charges are separate from the purchase. Access depends on supported browsers and the availability of the Google services used by the app.

Google Drive and family sharing

You authorize the app to access files you create or explicitly select using Google’s file-specific permission. Your browser reads and updates the selected Excel workbook directly with Google Drive. The owner retains control of the file in their Google account.

Email invitations grant the selected direct Google Drive access before an app invitation link is created. Invitation links are personal, may be restricted to an email address, and expire after seven days. Owners can copy an active link again or revoke pending invitations. Role changes and removals update direct file permissions through the connected owner account.

Access inherited through Google Drive folders, groups, domains, or public links must be managed separately in Google Drive. Removing an account or revoking an app invitation does not automatically remove every possible source of file access.

Your records and backups

You retain your rights to the budget information you enter. You are responsible for the information you choose to share and for keeping an independent copy when needed. You can download the workbook. A downloaded copy does not automatically synchronize with the live family workbook.

Manual entry errors, interrupted connections, and concurrent edits can affect your records. Review your entries and downloads. When a newer save conflicts with yours, keep or download your unsaved copy before reloading. The app does not automatically merge conflicting edits.

Acceptable use and security

Do not attempt to access another household without permission, bypass purchase checks, misuse invitation links, resell access codes, interfere with the service, or upload unlawful or harmful content. Report suspected unauthorized access through support.

We may restrict access to address fraud, abuse, security incidents, or legal obligations. Where appropriate and practicable, we will explain the reason and how to contact support. Restricting an app account does not itself delete a workbook owned in Google Drive.

Support, refunds, and consumer rights

Support requests and replies are available through the support page. Do not submit passwords, access tokens, purchase codes in public channels, or unnecessary budget details. No workbook is attached automatically.

For an Etsy purchase issue, contact the seller through Etsy or contact@voxiostudio.com with your order reference. Refunds and remedies depend on the purchase terms, Etsy’s applicable processes, and mandatory consumer law. These terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule or limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Availability and financial decisions

This is an organizational tool, not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. It does not connect to your bank or verify every transaction. Check information before relying on it.

We work to maintain the service, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or control third-party services. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is supplied on an available basis. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, remedies, or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

If a material change or discontinuation affects purchased access, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and explain export options and applicable remedies. Updates to these terms will not silently convert existing lifetime access into a subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Indiana, United States, except where mandatory law applicable to you requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms removes consumer protections, privacy rights, or access to remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

Privacy and changes to these terms

The Privacy Policy explains information processing, browser storage, Google access, and privacy requests. We will post the date of changes to these terms and provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate. Contact contact@voxiostudio.com about these terms or your account.
